Company Profile

The Laramie Company is a Denver-based, commercial real estate consulting, brokerage, development services and property management firm with national clients and experience.  The firm was founded in 1991 by Mary Beth Jenkins and is licensed in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Texas.   The firm’s principals offer more than fifty years of combined real estate experience.  Hands-on involvement in any assignment by these seasoned veterans is the key to The Laramie Company’s success. 

The Laramie Company provides project consulting and leasing services for a variety of shopping centers, including regional malls, lifestyle, urban mixed-use and entertainment retail developments. Consulting assignments include property feasibility studies, project repositioning, and project financing. Our deal-making expertise, for both property owners and municipalities, brings practical, real-world experience to our consulting work.  Our relationships with local and national retailers ensure the highest and best results for our clients. Laramie also provides tenant representation, development services, land and investment sales and property management services. The firm’s extensive real estate experience allows for vertical integration with its clients. 

Retail services are directed by Mary Beth Jenkins. Her experience includes 25 years of project leasing.  Among her assignments are regional malls and lifestyle, urban mixed-use, grocery and power centers.  Mary Beth is known for her direct approach to any project.  New projects begin with a comprehensive strategic plan.  Then she establishes strong partnerships with owners, tenants and municipalities and launches a proactive implementation of the final plan. With her national network of retail tenants and property owners, she brings a wealth of knowledge to any project.  Regional mall retail consulting projects include redevelopment, investment strategies and economic analysis for existing malls and feasibility studies for new regional shopping center developments.

Barbara Jaynes, Senior Broker, has 17 years of retail leasing experience, working with both national and local retailers.  When representing owners, Barbara has a strong track record in lease negotiations, tenant retention and strategic re-tenanting and redevelopment.  Barbara has extensive knowledge of the Northeastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania retail markets.

Bill Jenkins, Principal, has 24 years of development services, marketing, leasing, consulting and property management experience in the commercial
real estate industry.Bill’s product knowledge includes development services, land assemblage, and mixed-use retail, high-rise office, big box, regional mall and hotel projects. Bill’s skillful negotiations and market expertise enhance all phases of new property development, including land acquisition, lease-up and initial property management.  For existing properties, Bill has a reputation for blending leasing and property management to benefit both landlord and tenant.  His national experience includes projects in Denver, Oakland, Houston, Dallas and Kansas City. 

Individually, the principals draw from their corporate experiences with Cadillac Fairview and Trizec Properties and from long-term relationships with national and local tenants and owners.  Their skills and associations offer clients a rare combination of practical knowledge and innovative solutions, whatever the assignment.
