Barbara jaynes, senior broker
Barbara Jaynes is a Senior Broker with The Laramie Company, a Denver-based, commercial real estate firm. In her career, Jaynes has handled leasing for more than 6.8 million square feet of retail space, working with local and national retailers, including TJX, CVS, MetroHealth Hospital Systems, Chuck E Cheese, Panera Bread and Luxotica.
With more than 17 years of experience in retail real estate leasing, Jaynes most recently served as a Sales Associate with Guggenheim Realty in Beachwood, Ohio. At Guggenheim, she developed and executed leasing and marketing strategies for owner/developers and provided site selection and market studies for retailers in Northeast Ohio.
At The Coral Company, also in Beachwood Ohio, she leased an 840,000-square-foot portfolio of 12 shopping centers. She was also instrumental in the redevelopment of the historic Shaker Square, the second oldest shopping center in America.
Prior to her work at Guggenheim Realty, Jaynes was a Leasing Representative at Edens & Avant, based in Columbia, South Carolina, leasing a 1.1-million-square-foot retail portfolio of 10 shopping centers in Northeast Ohio and Elkhart, Indiana. Working on five redevelopment projects in Northeast Ohio, including two major medical facilities, Barbara handled the first-ever ground lease with Radio Shack and two redevelopments involving TJX companies.
She also served as Leasing Representative for Visconsi Companies in Pepper Pike, Ohio. At Visconsi Companies, she handled leasing for six shopping centers, totaling 808,365 square feet. She also negotiated renewals and options for a 3.8-million-square-foot portfolio in the Cleveland area.
Barbara began her retail real estate career with Revco drug stores, formerly headquartered in Twinsburg, Ohio. At Revco, she was responsible for tracking and negotiating extensions and options for 2,600 retail stores. In 1996-7, she marketed excess properties, saving more than $7 million.
