Bill heads The Laramie Company’s Development Services group. His most recent assignments include land assemblage, financial modeling and project management for leasing and construction of commercial and mixed-use developments including a 144 acre land, mixed –use site.
In Denver’s high-growth northern suburbs, Bill oversaw The Westminster Promenade development, located at Highway 36 and 104th Avenue. This work involved the entitlement of a 30-acre site for entertainment retail, its leasing and property management, and the disposition of excess land. The project is presently at 218,000 square feet and includes an AMC 24, Dave & Buster’s, Rock Bottom Brewery and Splitz Bowling Center. Jenkins also completed direct 10-acre sales to United Bank and Glauser Mercedes Benz. He is presently overseeing 26 adjacent acres under contract for The Promenade multi-family housing, retail and medical office uses.
In addition to local brokerage activity, Jenkins has launched REIT Advisory Services. His knowledge of multiple U.S. and Canadian markets allows Jenkins to perform REIT fundamental analysis and provide recommendations to investor groups focused on REIT activity as an investment.
From 1992 to 1996, Jenkins served as Senior Vice President for Bramalea, Inc., a Denver-based public real estate firm, and oversaw the operations and leasing of five million square feet of regional mall properties and nine million square feet of office property. Jenkins was also involved in the disposition program of this portfolio as required through the Canadian bankruptcy court. Disposition was accomplished within an eight month time period, approximately half the original projected time.
Prior to joining Bramalea, Jenkins worked for Trizec Properties. Initially this included Cullen Center, a three-million-square-foot, mixed-use development in downtown Houston, where he directed operations for a four-building portfolio of high-rise office space, 100,000 square feet of retail space, a 285-room hotel property and several surface parking blocks. Trizec expanded Jenkins’ responsibilities to include a Midwest portfolio, consisting of commercial properties located in Kansas City, Denver, Chicago and Dallas.
Jenkins also was part of the real estate expansion period in Texas when he joined The Farb Companies in 1982. Located in Houston, he directed property management responsibilities for a portfolio of 1.6 million square feet of new office and retail space, built within a two-year period.
Jenkins is a Certified Property Manager and has received numerous awards including Property Manager of the Year from the Institute of Real Estate Management, Building of the Year from Building Owners and Managers Association and Building Modernization Award from Buildings Magazine.
Jenkins earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Planning and Transportation from Lake Forest College. He is an active member of the ICSC, NAIOP, National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts and The Institute of Real Estate Management.
